Reservations

VUUR Goose Island is a fire cooking dining experience and you can book your seat at our SHARED CHEF's TABLE situated on Remhoogte Wine Estate in the Cape Winelands. Our table has a maximum of 16 seats which is open for reservations between Tuesday and Saturday. We also have two seats at our CHEF's COUNTER which will allow two diners to be close to the action and interact with our chefs. We only do lunch at VUUR Goose Island and we request all diners to be at the Remhoogte Wine Tasting Room at 13:00 where you will announce your arrival and receive a glass of wine. You will meet the other diners and VUUR Host, who will walk you down to the island, where your VUUR journey will start.

The experience at VUUR Goose Island consists of a seven-course tasting menu that is paired with six Remhoogte Wine Estate wines at R1,950 per person (the cost includes food, wine and staff gratuity). We are open for lunch with a confirmed reservation only.

Consumption of wine includes 1 wine per course and additional wine can be purchased.

HOURS

Lunch: Tuesday to Saturday at 13:00. The lunch will continue until our last course is served.

We recommend not planning much after our dining experience.

BOOKING / PAYMENT

All reservations will be paid for in full prior to arriving at VUUR. We will request a 50% deposit upon confirmation of your booking in order to secure the space. The final amount will be charged 7 days prior to your dining experience. If booking is made within 7 days of your dining experience then we will charge the full amount at confirmation.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

VUUR Goose Island is a restaurant situated on a farm and our focus is providing the diner an experience of land and sea. We will showcase a menu that based on meats (beef, lamb, venison, pork), fish and seafood. Seasonal fruits and vegetables will be used in its full form or produced into purees and many other forms. We endeavour to accommodate most reasonable dietary requests with proper advance notice (at time of making the reservation).

Please note we can do a vegetarian (Lacto) or pescatarian tasting menu all cooked off the fire. Unfortunately we cannot offer a complete vegan menu option. We are not a Halaal or Kosher certified kitchen.

Please advise us well in advance of any serious allergies or health problems that we need to consider.

​

Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate any menu changes on the day.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All bookings are confirmed by full upfront payment. Additional extras like wine purchases, cigars and any extras are billed separately on the day. For cancellations or changes made within 7 days of your booking date, deposits or payments are non-refundable. For a duration of 8 days or more, we will only retain the deposit.

Bookings that are not secured with prepayment within 72 hours are automatically cancelled.

PRIVATE BOOKINGS

VUUR Goose Island can be booked on private basis if you reserve by paying 16 seats. Contacting us via email on mytable@vuurrestaurant.com to reserve your private dining experience.

CHILD POLICY

Unfortunately we do not accommodate children for dining at VUUR Goose Island unless the venue is booked on private basis. Children under 18 are allowed by previous arrangements and menu can be designed for them. The children are not allowed to leave the deck area at VUUR Goose Island without supervision of the VUUR staff as it is a wildlife area and no liability will be assumed for any harm that might come from interaction with wildlife.

Dinner: By special arrangement only and confirmed with by the chef.

WILDLIFE

VUUR Goose Island is situated within a wildlife management area on a working farm. It is important to take note that all visitors enter the game management on their own risk and it is recommended that all visitors refrain from leaving the VUUR deck area without the supervision of VUUR staff. No walking up to the animals or feeding is allowed at all.
